Another Classing Questions (I'm sorry!!)

I tried to find this in the rule book, but now I'm more confused than ever!!  I have an 80 VW Scirocco that I was planning to run in FSP.  However, the car has upgraded 16V brakes (larger diameter) and an upgraded cam.  From what I can tell, I should now be in Street Modified.  But I don't see that option anywhere in WDCR.  I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't pin it down.  Help a newbie out!! Thanks!!

Where are you looking? If you go to register for an event, in the pull down menu for classes you should be able to find SM.

Re: Another Classing Questions (I'm sorry!!)

Not necessarily.  You fit in SM just fine, but also into E Prepared, where your car is more closely prepared to that class.  Take a look at the rulebook for Prepared and you'll see the allowances there.

It all depends on what you're going to do with the car in the long run.  Prepared allows you to strip the interior, SM does not.  Prepared allows for lexan windows, SM does not.
If you're trying to create a "race car", Prepared is a good way to go.  If you're trying to creat a very fast "street legal" car, Street Modified is a good way to go.
