These forums will be email enabled. Think Yahoo Groups. More info enroute eventually.
The event is open to Intermediate and Advanced Drivers - novice is a bit of a grey area but what we aren't able to handle at this event are first-timers.
Well, I won't be able to make the next PDX. I have to see my brother in Florida who I have not seen in over ten years. This will be interesting.
So you guys have fun, and I will be there in spirit. Enjoy!
Ralph
I have read the supps and have a car eligibility question: I have a 1987 BMW 325is that is being prepared for ITS club racing. It does not have a log book yet since there are some things that still need to be done: installation of a fire ext (should be done this week); installation of master kill switch (probably not done this week). I don't plan on having an SCCA tech inspection done by the 15th.
I have a legal cage, racing seats with 6-pt harnesses. window net, DOT R-compound tires, racing exhaust (no cat), original dash (custom gauge panels), etc. The car has passed tech at BSR FATT but that is a pretty basic inspection. Since the car has NOT been classified by SCCA yet, is it not eligible for this PDX?
Thanks!
Your car will be fine for the PDX. It's open to all safe street cars that pass tech, so a log book is required.
I think Ralph meant to say "a log book is not required". I may be wrong, but I would think as long as your car met all the safety requirements for a street car, AND afforded the same protection for the passenger (including harness, roll bar padding, seat, etc.), it should be fine.
