These forums will be email enabled. Think Yahoo Groups. More info enroute eventually.
I'm entered in a NASA HPDE Class the weekend before the 16 Nov PDX, and 2 weekends back to back is too much for me and my car. But I may be interested in volunteering at the PDX as a worker. Are there any credits toward future PDX's to be had in doing so? Or is being a "Worker" its own reward?
John
Well of course being a "Worker" is it's own reward. It is a lot of fun, is very important and appreciated by all and the drivers especially.
The current plan is for every 3 days worked at a PDX, you get a free event. And if you bring someone with you to work, their time can be credited to your account.
I'm not sure who to contact or who is keeping track of this, I think Lauren, if no one else answers, I can find out for you.
Louis
OK, thanks. I'll try getting in touch with Lauren. I've never worked an event like this before, and have only been to a few HPDE's, so there's a lot I don't know. Any additional info related to the workers SOP much appreciated.
John,
Basically just show up around 7:30-8:00am. You can register on dlbracing as a worker, then touch base with someone here or via email to give them a heads up. You may have to go over to the yahoo group, as this forum doesn't appear to have caught on yet and is not used too much.
They'll put you to work when you get there, it will be interesting, thanks. Corner working/flagging is a blast, you get to see a lot of cars and study the lines around the corners. You'll catch on quick, especially if you've been to HPDE's.
Hope to see you there.
