I was thinking about adding brake ducts to the front of my 2007 Mustang. Shelby has one that directs air to the center of the rotors, others make ducts that directs air to the face of the rotor or should I direct the air to the caliper? any comments
P.S. I only run PDX events. this is my weekend / track car.
Brake cooling ducts should sure make a big difference to your braking capability, especially on a heavy car like the new Mustang. I don't road race my Mustang so I haven't felt the need for that perf mod. When you say one option "directs air to the center of the rotors", do you mean by the spindle, or the outside edge of the rotor? I've read the rotor's inside cooling vanes are designed to work by pulling cool air from the center (spindle) to the outside edge, so putting more cool air by the spindle should help increase that effect. Cooling the backside face of the rotor might increase the tendency of warping. It seems that Agent 47 makes some nice ducts, too.

On my 2007 Mustang, I used plastic speaker port tubes that I epoxied into the stock lower grill (spray the whole grill after you're done with a light coat of Rustoleum textured semi-flat black and it looks stock). Used Quantum Engineering brake backing plates and "economy" brake duct hose from Stock Car Products. Works great, looks good, and much less $$ than the Shelby kit.
