Re: Driver School - April 5th-6th

Hello all! Registration is open, but make sure you have a DLB account. If you go to the WDCR home page and go about half way down on the right you will see the driver's school - just click on "Driver Register" and that will connect you to DLB. I'm normally a driver myself, but volunteered to work the grid last October and had a blast - looking forward to gettting out there again! So if you have any questions, just ask! Enjoy the school and try to remember to have fun!

P.S. For those of you who were out there last Oct., I was the redhead who was nagging (more like a gentle reminder  ) you about your chinstrap!

I don't think the registration is open.  The event is on the calendar, but there is no link to register for it.

Re: Driver School - April 5th-6th

So I've been doing HPDE events and would like to attend the drivers school. My car is way modified to meet any of the SCCA classes. Does the car just have to meet the minimum safety requirements i.e. full roll cage, fire system? or does it have to meet full homologation standards. reason is i'm not sure if i want to race wheel to wheel but wouldnt mind putting a roll cage in since i will most definitely keep doing HPDE and maybe SOLO or time attack.

i've got a 95 nissan 240sx with sr20det engine. seems like none of the classes allow turbos unless its factory.

thanks for the help!

Re: Driver School - April 5th-6th

car should meet the rules of one of the scca classes and must meet the safety requirements for that class.  download the supplemental instructions for the event from the calendar and download the scca comp regs from the scca website.  see if there is any class your car could qualify for. if so, sign up and start reading the rest of the gcr..there is a test on friday night of the event..no pass...no drive...

if your car is turbo'd then chances are it will not be eligible.  only place those can run modified is in ITE, but even then the car needs to have been built to the rules of some other racing association.

even if your car won't be legal, recommend renting a car and going anyway.  plenty of miatas and rx7s you can rent and have a blast.
