Hi all,
I just wanted to extend my apologies once again to flagger Sandy who was injured in the worker camping area after the final event on Monday (Labor Day). Sometimes we focus so much on the danger that the cars on track can provide, that we miss minor things, which this weekend illustrated very well. I pitched a tent on Sunday next to the opening in the fence by turn 3, part of which was a cord that came out partially in the walkway to the gate. I didn't leave enough room between the tent and the gateway, and one of the flaggers tripped and severely injured her wrist on breaking her fall. I just wanted to post here to apologize once again to her (hopefully you can still corner captain for now!) and warn the others to remember things like that when at the track, which can easily be overlooked. I don't know the details of the incident at the tower at pit entrance, but it also appeared to be a preventable accident. In the future, I will be much more careful with setting up my equipment, and if anyone has an address, I would like to send a card to Sandy and her husband, please email me at jordan_0_0_7@yahoo.com. Hope everyone had a good weekend, and my prayers are with the 3 injured on Monday.
